The NBC app will most likely stay around since it is used by providers for TV Everywhere plus it has live streams of local NBC stations and other NBCU cable channels that Peacock will not have.Īlso there is licensed third-party content NBCU has just for their broadcast network & cable channels they have limited streaming rights for (to place on their TV Everywhere apps) but most likely can't place on Peacock.Įven though HBO Max exists WarnerMedia is keeping the TV Everywhere apps for CNNgo, WatchTBS, WatchTNT, WatchTCM, truTV, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim because there is licensed third-party content those apps have that can't go on HBO Max plus they also have live streams of their respective channels. There is even a way to enable your HBO Max account to login to the HBO Now app on Amazon & Roku. HBO Max is different because most providers now have an agreement to include HBO Max as part of their HBO subscriptions therefor making HBO Go unnecessary.
